The Most Widely-Used Acne Treatments

Treatments for acne fall into two main categories: medical acne treatments and thermal or laser acne treatments.

Medical Acne Treatment:

Medical treatments are very common and they can be further categorized into oral and topical acne treatments. Both these types are effective but are only temporary solutions and may cause side effects like redness of skin, headaches, nausea and some other infections.

  • Oral Treatments:

Some of the oral antibiotics recommended for acne treatment are Tetracycline, Minocycline, Doxycycline and Erthromycin. Use these oral treatments only after checking with a physician, dermatologist or skin specialist. Remember that these pills may have adverse side effects associated with their consumption. Pregnant and lactating women should avoid antibiotics for the treatment of acne at all costs.
  • Topical Treatments:

Topical treatments or creams and lotions are prepared by using Benzoyl peroxide, Azelaic acid, Retinoids and Salicyclic acid. Acne treatments available over the counter usually consist of a combination of these acids and some other substances good for skin health. Topical treatments might not be suitable for everyone, especially those who have a sensitive skin and who suffer from eczema, skin irritation and swelling.

Thermal Acne Treatment:

Thermal treatment for acne is considered a traditional method or home remedy for the cure of pimples. A hot towel can be used to supply heat to the affected area (one pimple at a time). 3 to 5 repeated applications of this hot towel may kill bacteria and cure pimples. However, this method does not ensure full treatment and may cause irritation.

With the introduction of Zeno Acne Clearing Device, thermal acne treatment has become very easy-to-follow and completely effective. Zeno is a thermal acne clearing device which can be used by people of all ages. It has been approved by the FDA and does not cause any kind of side effects or infections.
