What Causes Acne?
Although the real causes of acne remain a mystery for most people but they may fall into any one or several of the most common causes explained below.

Adolescent Conditions:
Statistics show that almost 85% of people who suffer from moderate to severe types of acne are teenagers or adolescents. When a girl or a boy reaches the age of puberty many hormonal changes take place inside the body which may cause acne along with appearance of pubic hair, breast development in girls, muscle enlargement in boys and some other symptoms. Premature puberty in both males and females can also be a cause of acne. -
Diabetes:
People with Type 1 (insulin-dependent) or Type 2 diabetes may suffer from acne, skin rashes and other skin infections.

Eczema:
Eczema is a skin condition which causes redness, swelling, pain and inflammation. Acne can occur as a result of wrongly diagnosing or treating eczema. -
Hyperandrogenism:
This is a hormonal disorder which can affect both males and females. Hyperandrogenism is characterized by excessive levels of androgen (male sex hormones) in the body. Females can be diagnosed with this condition if they have irregular menstrual cycles, excessive hair growth and deepening of voice.

Pregnancy:
Acne may occur as a result of pregnancy when many hormonal changes are taking place inside a woman’s body. From conception till birth acne as well as some other conditions like nausea and vomiting are the most common symptoms seen during pregnancy. -
Stress:
Stress and depression, especially in women, may cause or worsen an already acute case of acne. Stress is one of the most prevalent factors contributing to adult acne.
